Interior Houseplant Day & Swap (Free)

March 7 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

Saturday, March 7th • 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Rooted In – 12804 Pelzel Rd, Pilot Point, TX 76258

Join us for Interior Houseplant Day & Swap, a free, come-and-go community event for houseplant lovers of all experience levels. Whether you’re new to indoor plants or already have a windowsill jungle, this is a great opportunity to trade plants, share knowledge, and learn how to keep houseplants thriving in North Texas homes.

There will be plants available (hopefully for everyone) — you do not need to bring plants to participate (though bringing some to trade is encouraged).

Expect a mix of:

  • Common and hard-to-find houseplants

  • Cuttings and divisions

  • Beginner-friendly and collector favorites

  • Plants suited for low-light, bright light, and everything in between

Throughout the day, our team will be available to answer questions and share practical advice on indoor plant care, including light, watering, repotting, pest issues, and propagation basics. 🌿

A few notes:

  • The event is completely free and drop-in friendly.

  • Please bring healthy, pest-free plants only.

  • If you bring plants or cuttings, label them clearly with:

    • Common name (and scientific name if known)

    • Light and watering needs

    • Any helpful notes (growth habit, ease of care, pet safety, etc.)

Clean pots or well-rooted cuttings are ideal. We’ll have some bags and labels on hand, but bringing your own is appreciated. 🙂

📅 Speaker Schedule

10:30 AM — Terrariums: Tiny Worlds in Glass
with Patrick Dickinson

Glass containers of all shapes and sizes can become beautiful mini ecosystems for a variety of plants. Dickinson will explore how terrariums work, how to build one successfully, and why they’re one of the easiest and lowest-maintenance ways to grow houseplants—often needing little to no watering.

11:15 AM — The Dirt on Potting Soil
with Luke Harrison

Do you need drainage holes for your succulents? How often should your pothos be fertilized? These questions and more will be answered as we break down the basics of potting mix management.

Not all potting soil is created equal, and the right mix can make a big difference for your houseplants. Harrison will explain what’s actually in potting mixes and how choosing the right one can help your plants grow stronger and healthier.

12:00 PM — 10 Easy Houseplants Anyone Can Grow
with Daniel Cunningham

Think you don’t have a green thumb? Cunningham will share ten of the easiest houseplants for a range of light conditions—tough, forgiving plants that thrive with minimal care and make growing indoors simple for just about anyone.
