The BEST part of this class—prepare to get your hands dirty, cause we’ll have a ball making our own Texas native wildflower seed bombs for you to take home!
Many of our native plants and wildflowers can be propagated easily by seed! Seed bombs (or seed balls) incorporate native clay which protects the seed from pests; compost which helps with moisture retention, nutrients and beneficial microbes! When you toss or throw the seed bombs into sparsely-planted areas, they’ll lay and wait until the next heavy rainfall event– where the seeds will germinate and begin to grow!
Learn the step-by-step process with the DIY portion of the class. PLUS we’ll dig in to the basic challenges and rewards of seed saving and seed starting– including seed selection, harvesting strategies, germination and dormancy requirements, as well as planting times and techniques for successful reproduction of some of our favorite Texas plants!
It’s sure to be a blooming good time for folks of any age!
