The rock roses are taking center stage this fall with incredible blooms! 🌸 While not true roses (they’re actually small shrubby hibiscus), these Texas-tough plants bring nonstop color and pollinator appeal to the landscape.

• The native Texas rock rose (Pavonia lasiopetala) – Soft pink flowers pair beautifully with the light blue clusters of Gregg’s mistflower and the texture of native grasses like little bluestem. Together they create a natural meadow feel that butterflies can’t resist! 🦋

• The nativar ‘Ellen’s Legacy’ rock rose (Pavonia lasiopetala ‘Ellen’s Legacy’) – Compact and covered in rosy-pink to wine-toned blooms, this wild selection makes a striking foreground accent. Pair it with the silver foliage and bright yellow flowers—like four-nerve daisy—for a cheerful, tidy combination. ✨

• The adapted Brazilian rock rose (Pavonia braziliensis) – Slightly taller, with soft white petals tinted in pink and a vivid maroon throat, it brings vertical interest and extended bloom time. Use a red big bluestem cultivar (for example, Andropogon gerardii ‘Blackhawks’ or ‘Red October’) behind it, and in front plant a low mounded companion such as mealy blue sage or Zexmenia for layered visual depth and pollinator appeal.

📍 All three in stock now at Rooted In – 12804 Pelzel Rd, Pilot Point, TX 76258
⏰ Open Tues–Sat 9 AM–5 PM, Sun 10 AM–5 PM
